有时候，我们是在制造一种方法，一种形式，强行”制作”出一个画面，好像自己就是伟大的造物者，但我们做的只是格物，远未正心。有时候，你会感到任何你熟悉的技法、理论和经验都不可行，它们在此时变的无力，总觉得有太多不能描绘出的心声，有太多不能表达的表达。有时候，你可能会依据理论或听从别人的建议，绕开你最初的想法和感动，强行改变，然而接踵而至的可能是更大更多的迷茫和困惑。当你纠结于技术和形式，当你纠结于理论和经验，当你纠结于别人的论断是否正确，却与你最初的本心渐行渐远。困惑时人们常常说，何不回归自然，向自然求救。那么我们也更有理由对自己说——何不回归内心，向内心求救。我们在纠结外力的时候，恰恰会忽略掉最重要的部分，什么是你内心深处的声音，什么是你的本心想真正生发的。艺术家，是一个带有绝对私属情感的个体，他始终都要遵循的一个原则就是尊重自己的当下生命体验，尊重自己的内心，这是任何人都无法替代的。

Sometimes, we develop ways or forms of creation in which we force a work to be “produced,” as if we are a great and powerful maker of objects. But in so doing, we only observe the outward appearance of the object created, and have not come near to having the right attitude towards creative work. Sometimes, one will feel that any technique in which one is versed, theory that one understands, or previous experience that one has is not useful in expressing a certain feeling or idea, that there is so much else that they simply cannot depict. Sometimes, an artist will rely on theory, or on the suggestions of others, forcing himself to change his thoughts rather than staying true to his own ideas and feelings. What follows is often an ever-increasing sense of confusion and being lost. When one allows his thoughts to become tangled up in issues of technique and form, when one worries too much about the opinions of others, and moves further and further away from his original idea, he will begin to seek a way out. When we are confused in life, we turn to nature to guide us. When we are confused in art, we must turn back to our own hearts to find a path forward. When we occupy ourselves with outside forces, we forget the most important thing, which is the voice within our own hearts and minds. What is it within our hearts that we wish to express and to share with others? An “artist” is an individual with absolutely personal feelings and ideas, a person who must strictly adhere to the principle of respecting his own personal life experience, as well as the ideas and feelings that flow from it. These are things that no artist can have replaced for him by another person.
